Children & Youth

Children, youth, and young adults are valued members of our faith communities, with much to give and to receive.

Taking young people seriously is essential to the journey toward wholeness in the church. Each person, at whatever age, will have gifts and needs within the community. The integration of children and youth into the church is an important part in the journey toward the wholeness God intends for the church.

Volunteers in Red Deer Presbytery are always looking for ideas that will involve our young people. Here are some of our programs:

  • Rendez-Vous - the national gathering of United Church of Canada youth, young adults, and their leaders. The 2017 event is from August 16 - 19 in Montreal. At Rendez-Vous, we can
    • find a sense of identity
    • learn from each other
    • establish relationships that will strengthen every part of our church
  • Kasota East Camp - Located in Half-Moon Bay on lovely Sylvan Lake, we strike a balance between gorgeous natural settings and comfortable accommodations. Kasota East Camp has a traditional summer camp "feel" with modern customer service that parents appreciate. Each week is made into a unique experience through special theme programming and activities.
  • And more through the United Church of Canada
